Students in Training is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), organization located in Salisbury North Carolina. We are a technology centric organization that provides free computers to low income individuals and families. All of the computers donated through our Computers in Communities Program are refurbished by student volunteers, under the observation of our certified technicians.

Through this process we are able to educated children and young adults on the various components of a computer. They gain firsthand experience in the disassembly, reassembly, and other various hardware related tasks.

Students in Training is proud to be a green company. All computers and equipment, e-waste, is recycled. All student volunteers are educated on proper e-waste disposal techniques and assist in the teardown of defunct equipment.

Students in Training is make some major changes to its operational structure in order to bring increased services to Salisbury and surrounding areas.

  • Technology improvements including a new ip-pbx telephone system and new server facilities that will drastically reduce operating costs while increasing our capabilities.
  • New process models for the service & sales division. We are targeting a maximum service time of 24 hour for all computers.
  • Reinvented recycling program for e-waste in cooperation with our friends at Powerhouse Recycling.

The simple truth is that students that have access to computers are statistically proven to have improved classroom performance.

Most governmental programs now encourage the use of computerized forms and internet systems to apply for social program benefits. Without access to a computer those in need generally have increased benefit lag times.
