Students In Training

During the Fall Semester of 2007 Students in Training embarked on a program with RCCC's Work-based Learning and Cooperative Education Program. Taking on Stephanie Phillips who worked with us blending the theories gained in the classroom into a practical work environment. Students in Training plans on continuing this symbiotic relationship with RCCC.

In 2007:

We trained 70 students in Leadership,Technology, and Environmental Stewardship. We have the opportunity to donate over 400 'Computers to the Community'. SIT kept tons of e-waste out of the landfills and hence out of the water supply. Students in Training developed several web sites for sponsors and other non-profit including Meals on Wheels-Rowan,Sacred Heart Catholic School www.shcsnc.org,Greared up for Success www.gearedup4success.com as well as our own www.sitorg.org.

Other accomplishments in 2007:

We have installed a server, network, 2000'of CAT6 cabling for Sacred Heart Catholic School. Students in Transition also installed wirless cards,cabling and networked the training area at the Love Center in Salisbury. SIT installed operating systems on 8 computers for the Veterans Home in Spencer,N.C. We completely cleaned out the offices of Telesprectrum(adjacent to SIT). Removed all leftover computer equipment and trash. Usable equipment was refurbished and donated. Unusable equipment was safely recycled.

In 2006,we recieved 501(c)(3)status from the IRS.
